New Pattern in Common Entrance Test for IIT, NIT, IIIT form 2013
It has officially announce that the Common Entrance Test pattern for both IIT and NIT is going to change form next year(2013). After a meeting between councils of IIT and NIT, Officials announced that form next year only one examination will be conducted for India Institute Of Technology and National Institute of Technology. This new pattern of examination will be conducted form 2013 by Joint Admission Board and CBSE Board is going to provide administrative support form conducting this entrance exam.
Examination Pattern
There will be two separate papers, one is JEE mains paper and the other is JEE advance paper. Only 50,000 candidates who have performed the best will be permitted to attend the JEE advance paper held on the same day. The merit students in JEE advance examination will be consider for admissions. The Selection process is different for every Board. but the counseling and seat allotment will be common for all Institutions.
Weightage Details
- 40% weight age will be given to performance in 12th class exam for NITs and other institutions.
- 30% weight age to performance in JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
